FAQ
Torque Wrench Set
Why won’t my torque wrench trigger (click)?
Common reasons:
1、Low torque: only slight shaft bend, no loud click.
2、No-load testing (e.g., tightening in air) gives no clear click.
3、Applying force too fast ignores the click.
4、Jerky, unstable force causes skipping or late release.
How to store a torque wrench correctly?
Store in its case in a dry, clean place to protect accuracy from dust, dirt, and moisture.
How to use at low torque (e.g., 5 Nm)?
The click is very quiet. Focus on the slight handle movement and test on a properly loaded screw.
Can I drop or rough-handle the torque wrench?
No. Dropping or mishandling will damage calibration and accuracy. Handle gently and store safely when not in use.
Why do I overtighten past the set torque?
Users mistakenly think the wrench locks automatically. In fact, it only alerts with a click or bend — you can still keep tightening. Ignoring the alert causes overtightening.
Can I add an extension or cheater bar to the handle?
No. Extensions affect accuracy and can damage the wrench.
What are correct vs. incorrect practices?
✅ Correct
- .Stop immediately at click or handle bend
- .Test only on loaded screws
- .Turn slowly and evenly
❌ Incorrect
- .Keep turning after click
- .Test with no resistance (in air)
- .Turn too quickly and miss the click
Can I use a torque wrench to loosen bolts?
No. It is only for final tightening to a specified torque. Do not use for loosening, prying, or over-range high-torque jobs.
Can I keep turning after hearing the “click”?
No. The click only signals the preset torque is reached — continuing to turn causes overload and damages screws or the wrench. Tighten slowly and evenly, no jerky motions.
How often should I calibrate my torque wrench?
Calibrate once per year or after about 5,000 uses. More frequent calibration is needed for heavy or critical applications.
What should I do with my torque wrench after use?
Always return it to the minimum torque setting (not below the minimum) to preserve spring accuracy and extend service life.
